Stimulus presents #Connect2Resources Technology can bridge the gap between cities”: attendees heard from leaders in 5 cities to understand their monetary and in-kind resources, learn how to work in multiple cities and more.

A Multi-City Conversation between Chicago, Boston, NYC, DC and Philadelphia.  
The speakers included:

Jocelyn J. Arnold – Deputy Director for Development, City of Philadelphia Office of Grants.

The mission of the office is to increase the City’s capacity and capability to compete for federal, state and philanthropic sector grants.

Jimmy Lee – President & CEO, GoodCity – Chicago VIA SKYPE

GoodCity identifies and then supports high potential community-based entrepreneurs working to solve complex problems in their community.

Amardeep Prasad – Program Manager, Startup in Residence (STIR) – San Francisco VIA SKYPE

Startup in Residence, a 16-week program which partners government departments with startups to develop products and services that address critical public sector challenges.

Travis Sheridan – President, (Cambridge Innovation CenterVenture Café Global Institute – Boston

CIC develops innovation ecosystems that support exceptional innovators and entrepreneurs and helps them to translate their ideas into practical, large-scale benefits for society.  (Launching in Philly)

Kimberly Berger – President/COO, Her Corner – DC

A community of women entrepreneurs supporting each other through networking, resources, and education to help grow their women-owned businesses. (Launching in Philly)

Event Recap:

Attendees: 100 including non-profits, corporations, entrepreneurs and city government.
Goal: To inform our attendees of the upcoming applications for resources including Goldman Sachs 10K Small Business, WeWork grants and Score mentoring program for small businesses.
Results: Over 75 attendees (and on-line) signed up on the Stimulus database and expanded our network in Philadelphia. Our event partners doubled their application goals for the 2nd quarter of 2017.
